Lounge Wear
I did a quick poll on my Instastories not too long ago asking if you guys were even shopping given the unprecedented times we are in. While it was a 50/50 split, most of you who were shopping said you are really eyeing up lounge wear right now. This has also been echoed in my popular posts because my lounge wear outfits post from 2019 has been getting a lot of eyeballs since quarantine. Honestly I was hesitant at first about adding more house clothes to my wardrobe because I find I’m less productive when I wear them. But with the weather changing to summer and the fact that I probably won’t be working in an actual office until July I’ve found myself looking for affordable summer lounge wear. Since it seems like something we’re all looking for, I decided to share with you guys some of the pieces I already own plus some that I’m planning to buy as soon as they go on sale.
White Out
Whenever summer rolls around I inexplicably find myself being drawn to all white outfits. They’re crisp, clean and always classic. Even when it comes to summer lounge wear I’ve been looking at white pieces, especially sweatpants. While this won’t be everyone’s first choice, an inexpensive white set just looks good and when styled right can make for a chic outfit. Instead of a track suit I swapped out a sweatshirt for an on trend one shouldered crop top. It’s super flattering and an easy way to transition sweats into summer. I will warn you though with quarantine white pieces are selling like hotcakes because everyone and their momma wants to make a tie dye set, which I am totally guilty of. If you can snag a pair of sweatpants I highly recommend. I even forsee myself trying to wear mine outside of the house.
Matching Sets
I am a sucker for a good matching set. And if you read my post on 8 Things I’m Loving then you’ve seen this one before. A matching set just makes it so much easier to get dressed. That’s why I absolutely had to get this set from Forever 21. One, obviously because it’s leopard but it’s also perfect for summer lounging. I also love the crop top because it pairs nicely with a lot of my other house clothes and sometimes I even throw it on as an actual top. Personally if I were going to invest in lounge wear it’d definitely be a matching set since you get the most bang for your buck!
Wide Legs
Nothing screams summer like a cozy pair of breathable wide leg lounge pants. I scooped this pair up from Forever 21 for all of $7, proof that good pieces don’t have to be expensive. What I love most about wide leg pants is they’re ultra flattering for pear shaped women when they’re high waisted. Also when you choose the right pair you can wear them out of the house without anyone really noticing they’re lounge pants. The key is to pick a pair in a versatile color and durable yet breathable fabric like a cotton/polyester blend.

***Disclaimers: One if you buy the Amazon top pay attention the style. The one I bought did not have the cutouts on the back. Two, I’m did not link to the exact sweatpants I bought because I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy them. They were piling straight out the package which I purposefully didn’t hide in these photos. Unfortunately they’ll only get worse and reading the reviews many others had this same complaint.
Brown Tones
Somewhere around late last year I began obsessing with shades of brown and I clearly haven’t stopped. I’m noticing that as the temperatures warm I’ve been reaching for a crop top and sweat pants in the evenings then layering with my fuzzy robe when it gets too chilly. Per my usual m.o. I still reach for monochrome outfits even when it comes to lounge wear. My trick for making colors feel less boring is to play with different shades.
What I’m Eyeing Up Now
To be honest there aren’t alot of things I’m looking to add to my summer lounge wear, but here are some of the pieces I’m keeping an eye on.
