Something that’s really been inspiring me lately is looking at street style photos of people all dressed up with their face masks on even though they’re just running to the grocery store. While I’ve not gotten to the point of dressing to slay when I leave the house just yet, I’m realizing with some states starting to re-open that it might be time for me to pull out actual clothes again. To get myself motivated to step out of the house in something other than lounge wear I decided to finally share these photos I shot pre-quarantine on how to style a shacket 3 ways for the season. The easiest, and honestly my favorite, way to wear a shacket is as a layering piece. While most people would rock a shacket with a pattern I decided to keep it chic with faux leather. It’s really unexpected yet spring appropriate making it an easy way to stand out from the crowd.

Another way to wear a faux leather shacket is by tucking it in to wear it as a shirt. While the idea of tucking in a shirt doesn’t seem revolutionary, the fact that it’s leather makes it kind of unexpected. The trick with this is making sure you have pants that will conceal long hemline without adding bulk. To take this look up even further I paired it with my zebra ankle boots to add a pop of pattern. What I love most about this shacket outfit is that it rides that fine line between work and weekend.

As always I save the more fashion forward and playful look for last. Depending on the fit and length, another unique way to style your shacket is over a pair of fun wide leg pants. If your shacket is on the longer side wear it with pants that have a vertical pattern. Patterns like stripes will prevent you from looking short when you’re wearing a oversized top. Also you can add height with some cute ankle boots or heels which will help to keep your proportions balanced.
