By now I’m sure you’ve seen power red everywhere.  It’s the hottest color of the season so you can bet that everyone and their momma will be wearing it for the holidays.  While sometimes it pays to fit in, the holidays are for standing out.  So I put together this forest green holiday outfit that’s sure to turn heads.  One of my favorite things about a monochrome outfit, besides the fact that they’re so effortlessly chic, is that they are incredibly easy to create.  Once you’ve decided what color you want to work with all you have to focus on is fit and adding interest.  Keep scrolling for how you can pull together a chic green holiday outfit yourself.

2.

Add Your Accessories

Once you’ve chosen your base it’s time to focus on accessories.  If your base is something relatively simple like a dress reach for some statement making accessories.  Remember it’s the holidays so the bolder the better!  If your base if over the top, like an extravagant velvet suit, pair your pieces with a subtle pop of metallic that compliments your look rather than competes with it.  In this case I added a faux fur scarf for a more luxe vibe.  The great thing about a faux fur is it’s perfect for keeping warm both outside and inside when you ditch the coat.

1.

Pick Your Base

The first step to nailing the chic all green holiday outfit is to pick out your actual outfit.  The key here is to pick what’s comfortable and works for the occasion.  Personally with the arrival of winter-like weather in Detroit I’ve been opting for wide leg pants with a chic top.  Another easy choice is a midi or maxi sweater dress, but again you go with you feel most amazing in!

3.

Match Your Outerwear

The last thing you need to put together a chic all green holiday outfit is outerwear.   It’s easy to overlook this step but honestly it’s the most crucial for really nailing the look.  Take the time to find a green winter coat that will work beyond this one time wear.  The key is choosing the right style and shade.  Olive green and forest green are timeless colors that can be worn year after year where bolder colors will only be wearable for a season.  Also coats with clean lines will work for more occasions than a trendy puffer jacket.
