As the weather transitions from summer to autumn one print will follow suit: fall florals.  And with the weather getting cooler here in Detroit my outfits could use a sweet reminder of summer.  Though flowers tend to be more feminine, I couldn’t help but to give it a tomboy-ish spin.  If you’re struggling to take florals from summer to fall here are a few tips to help:

  1. Try pairing it with a suit.  For your 9-5 or a night out styling a floral blouse or bodysuit you can make the print fall friendly.  Bonus points if you have an autumn colored suit to wear it with!
  2. Throw on some layers.  You can easily take any of your floral pieces into the season by wearing a blazer, leather jacket or a duster jacket.
  3. Add fall textures.  Another easy way to transition floral print is by adding interesting textures.  Think faux furs, velvet, even mesh and fishnets.
  4. Play with your accessories.  Using accessories is an easy way to transform a piece season to season.  Whether it’s a pair of on trend statement earrings or the hottest shoes, accessories are the budget friendly way to make something fall appropriate.

Florals are quickly becoming a year round print like pinstripes or leopard print.  So don’t shy away from adding it to your wardrobe.  The key is to find a floral print piece that works with your style and what you own.
