Green Jacket
Between the months of October and April cute outerwear is essential for looking stylish no matter where you live. While the weather transitions from hot to cold to rainy a killer jacket is such an easy way to stand out from the crowd. With spring around the corner and leather still topping the trend list, this green cropped jacket from Bird Bee was a no brainer addition to my wardrobe. I love that the color feels fresh but is still somehow classic and the length is crazy flattering for a pear shaped shawty like myself! Before I add a statement piece like this to my wardrobe I make sure that I have at least 3 different ways I could wear it in the current season plus 2 more ways for other seasons. So I decided to share some of the ways I plan to style my cropped jacket this spring. I hope you enjoy some inspiration on how to get more wear out of the jacket you already own!
An Everyday Look
The easiest way to rock a cropped jacket for pear shaped women is with high rise bottoms. If you do it right, the jacket and the pants should hit the smallest part of your waist which will show off your figure. If you’re anything like me then casual means a tee, a pair of jeans and cute shoes. So I decided to use this as an opportunity to add color into an otherwise simple outfit. On a day where you plan to do a lot of walking tennis shoes would be a better choice but if you’re wanting to be dressier white ankle boots make the look more polished.
Work Wear
Another easy way to rock a cropped jacket is to use it to color block. This is a really helpful tip because it can help you to minimize areas you might not feel as confident about yet and highlight areas that you do. In this look that I put together for work I’m using the light jacket to draw attention to my upper body. I also wore darker pants which helps to minimize the appearance of my hips which gives me flattering shape. Also by keeping my shoes dark as well it helps me to appear taller making my proportions appear more even.
Trend Forward
This last look is definitely for those looking to be fashion forward. A third option to style your cropped jacket that’s flattering for pear shaped women is actually as a top. In this case I layered it over a sweater and tucked both into my high waist pants. It’s definitely something different but fashion girl approved. The other way to add some edge was to pair it with an in season print like snake print.
