Guys blazers are the bee’s knees, where did that expression even come from, I mean who is looking that closely at a bee’s knee or a cat’s pajamas for that matter…seriously, you’re probably thinking I’m getting a little bit redundant but I don’t care, no offense. If you don’t believe that blazers are a must for every wardrobe see why I beg to differ and my guide on how to find the perfect blazer. Finding the right blazer for you is like finding the perfect, well anything, we all know that amazing feeling we get when we find exactly what we’re looking for. The right blazer is not only flattering but versatile, here are three ways to wear your blazer:
- Belt It. And I don’t mean singing although you can when you find your perfect blazer, I know it did. For a fun update and to highlight your waist add a belt to alter the fit of your blazer and show a little personality, bonus points for using a scarf as a belt.
- Layer It. Instead of only wearing it over your button up to the office, throw it on over simple look and pair it with matching shoes to elevate your casual wear.
- Top It. Using safety pins, a belt, or unique broach turn your blazer into its own top to get more mileage out of the piece.
The most important thing when adding a blazer, or really any other garment of that matter, is that it should fit your style preferences. Don’t let yourself get caught up in what all the it-girls are wearing and spend tons of money on something that doesn’t make you feel fabulous, especially when that money could’ve paid for a nice meal or even a vacation. Remember, when it comes to clothes, you are NOT obligated to buy anything. I know it’s hard to think about shopping that way but when you let go of the thought that you have to buy something when you go, I promise shopping will become much more enjoyable! If you don’t like to shop or simply need a trained set of eyes, let me help you! Check out my styling services and schedule your consultation today. See how else I’ve worn a blazer to work, as a dress and on the weekend.
