Spring, much like Fall, can be a difficult time of the year for getting dressed since the weather is constantly fluctuating. There are are a few classic pieces necessary for these transitional periods in our lives and one of those is a wrap jacket. The reason this utility wrap jacket has become a staple is because, if chosen wisely, it is universally flattering and versatile. When choosing this type of jacket there are a few things to keep in mind:
- Fit. It’s important to chose a style of jacket that works with your proportions in order to create a balanced look. For those looking to hide wider hips or wanting to elongate your torso try for a style that ends just beyond the widest part of your hips.
- Material. Picking the right material is key in whether this piece will work for transitioning or for a specific season. You want a material that is lighter than your winter wear but a little heavier than a summer cardigan.
- Color. This is a perfect piece to have in multiple colors. It’s great to have it in a neutral color, but for an easy way to update your look opt for one in a fun color or print.
As always versatility is important for anything in your closet. The more ways you can wear a piece the easier it will be to maximize your wardrobe, and who doesn’t want endless outfit options!?! For more ideas on how to style your jackets and blazers check out my other posts here and here.

Thanks for hosting the link up Cherie! I still have to be careful when it comes to short shorts as most are not pear shaped friendly.
Love the combo of the olive jacket and the tan fringe bag and those fab heels. You look great!

Thanks Jess! I actually fell in love with this jacket when I saw my mom try it on at H&M, she thought it didn’t look good on her but I knew it’d be perfect for me lol.
