If you ask any guy what their favorite part about summer is, it’s girls in sundresses. I can’t blame them, they’re the perfect outfit for pretty much any summer activity. Though the guys may be focused on how great they make our rear ends look, I can’t get enough of how they make me feel. Free to flow wherever the summer breeze takes me which is why I instantly fell in love with this TOBI maxi dress.
I’m a sucker for elevated basics. Those pieces that have something unexpected yet you can still wear with anything and practically anywhere. They take your look to the next level with minimal effort, because we have more important things to spend our time on than agonizing over an outfit. If you’re wondering how to choose an elevated basic, here are my tips:
- Pick neutral colors. The point of a basic is that it goes with EVERYTHING, unfortunately colors like electric blue or mustard yellow don’t.
- Pay attention to fit. Be sure that whatever you choose works with your body and with what you already own to maximize your wardrobe.
- Listen to your inner voice. Ladies, you are far more aware of what you like and don’t like than you think. Don’t let someone else convince you to buy something that you know you don’t love, it’s a waste of your money.
Keep in mind that the point of elevated basics, like this TOBI maxi dress, is that they not only work with your body and what you own but can be worn for multiple occasions. Don’t limit your wardrobe by buying clothes that only work for certain parts of your life. See how else I’ve rocked a TOBI jumpsuit.
Now I want to hear from you, what’s your favorite elevated basic?
