Honestly when it comes to dressing for work I believe in the Steve Jobs philosophy. Spend as little time as possible sweating over what to wear so I can focus on more important decisions. Because between working and blogging, I’ve got a lot of them to make. But that doesn’t mean I wear the same exact thing every day or that what I wear to my 9-5 is boring. By creating a uniform I have more time in the morning to dedicate to other tasks with the benefit of knowing I look good in the process. And you can have that too, seriously!
Putting together a non boring work outfit is not hard as it seems. With so many fashionable items being easily accessible it can feel over whelming. The first place to start is with your base. Personally I’m not into dresses for work so my base would be a top and bottom, but go with what makes you feel awesome. Next choose your statement piece. As you can tell most of my outfits are centered around a pair of ridiculously awesome pants. I let them be the focus by wearing basic tops and on occasion I’ll throw on a fun pair of shoes with a purse to add some depth to my outfit. If you’re wearing dresses or jumpsuits as your base you can let them make a statement, or you can add a layering piece as your star. The key is to have one stand out piece that really adds interest.
