Hey there gal pals, and cool guys too! If you’ve read my Stylist Picks for June then you know that for this summer, and pretty much year round, I am all about easy breezy, no fuss clothes. A midi skirt, especially with on trend slits, is just that. I styled this skirt more conservatively for my trip to West Palm Beach, but I wanted to show you guys how to take this floral midi skirt up a notch:
- DIY Crop Top. As you guys know, unless you’ve been under a rock or in space, tie front crop tops are all the rage. Instead of going out and buying one, simply re-fashion your button up in to a stylish crop top. Not only does this save money, it also breathes new life into your plain old button ups.
- Bold Heels. Don’t shy away from color, especially in the summer. Bring out the the color in your skirt by pairing it heels in a matching or complementary color, consult a color wheel for help on what colors to choose.
- Fun accessories. Use your accessories to mix in other fun patterns. Stripes and floral print always play well together.
A midi skirt is a classic and universally flattering piece. The key is to pick one in a timeless cut and choose a color or pattern that will last from season to season. Need help on how to style your clothes, schedule your complementary consultation today and get started on the road to a more stylish you!

Thanks Lauren, the moment I laid eyes on it I knew it was the perfect piece to add to my wardrobe. The color and print make it great for spring, summer and fall, plus the classic cut will keep it stylish year after year.
Thank you for stopping by!
I am loving that stripe and floral mix. Love the floral print skirt. I love seeing what you have to offer, and take it into our following seasons here in Australia x I have taken note to self to buy floral skirt 🙂 Haven’t got the bod for a crop top though. Remember wearing lots as a teenager 🙂
Alicia, I’m glad I’m giving you fresh ideas for the upcoming seasons over in Australia, by the way it’s so cool that you live in the land down under and thank you so much for always stopping by to share! You could rock a crop top with high waist pants or skirt, just choose one that passes the top of your pants so you stay covered up. Thank you again for being a familiar face here on Lil Miss JB Style, it’s much appreciated!
Love this! Those shoes are so adorable, I need them in my closet!

Thanks Monica, those were my exact thoughts when I put them on my feet. Aldo seems to have them still pretty well stocked so hopefully you can snag yourself a pair when they go on sale!
Great outfit, I love those shoes! I think I need to look at my wardrobe with a different view, I often wear the same things all the time and need to ‘re-fashion’ them. 🙂
