As the days get colder and colder here in Michigan there’s nothing more comforting than wrapping myself in a big blanket, but when I have venture out into public I settle for the next best, a blanket scarf. On those days when a fur vest isn’t enough for layering, blanket scarves are a great way to keep warm while looking chic. The great thing about them is that they are easy to incorporate into your look and look great on every body type. Some things to keep in mind when styling a blanket scarf for fall are:
- Versatility. As with any accessory, it’s important to pick a scarf that can worn with a majority of the clothes you already own. You don’t want to buy a scarf that only goes with a few select pieces as it limits the wearability.
- Colors and Patterns. Opt for year round colors or patterns so that your scarf can easily transition from season to season and with out competing with any other garments from your outfit.
- Details. Find a scarf with fun details, like fringe, that give the piece personality and adds some interest to your look.
The most important thing to keep in mind when choosing an accessory like this is what it shares about the type of person you are. Accessories are a great way to show personality and give the world a taste of who you are without having to speak so be sure that what you’re rocking shares a little about you!
