This weekend was quite eventful to say the least. During the warm, sunny days I finally decided it was time to be a grown up and buy sheets to fit the new bed I bought when I moved into my apartment almost 2 years ago, I know I know procrastination at its finest. The boy was also in town visiting and in hitting one of our favorite brunch places in Plymouth, the Omlette and Waffle Cafe, and yes it is as spectacular as it sounds, we stumbled across a new dinner spot called Barrio. What caught our attention was not only the sight of Mexican corn and street tacos but on the sign it read “tequilaria”, talk about Cinco de Mayo jackpot. Needless to say once we worked up an appetite post bedding shopping we partook in the amazingness that is Mexican street food. If you live in the area, I highly recommend it!
What really put the cherry on top of such an awesome weekend was that I was able to partake in an unique opportunity to be a competitor is this year’s Ultimate Style Expo Blogger Competition. This was the 2nd year that the Ultimate Style Expo event has been put on by Scotta Intimates which not only had local designers showcasing their work on the runway but even us mere bloggers.

The other two bloggers competing in the competition, Skinny Girl with Style and Fashion Meets God.
Overall the Ultimate Style Expo was a great experience, looking back I wish I had taken more pictures, but then again I spent most of the time in the fitting room with half naked models who probably wouldn’t have appreciated the candids. The boy did happen to get a video of myself and the other bloggers strutting our stuff on the runway which I will upload to my YouTube channel later this week, so keep your peeps peeled. Not only did I meet some awesome models and designers but other local bloggers. It was fun to get to know them and hear about their blogging journey, goals, insights and even that we were facing some of the same challenges, I thought it was just a me thing. Meeting them made me look forward to the blogger network that I am starting to build for style bloggers in the Detroit-Metro area, which if you’re a blogger out here we’d love to have you join us just contact me here. To my surprise, really, I won the competition due to my quirkiness and monochromatic look, in my mom’s face who told me not to wear this outfit by the way, I showed her, jk love you mom! I would like to thank the Ultimate Style Expo for allowing me to participate and the judges Style Mile and Beauty and the Muse for voting for me, I am truly honored.
See my other monochromatic looks here and here. Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Fabulous looking outfits for such a grand event. I love how blue appeared to be a central theme worn with everyone. I wanted to let you know that you were featured on “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me” link up today. Thanks for linking up last week, I hope you can again.
