As the weather continues to fluctuate between “it’s finally Spring” to “or naw” I’m finding that I can’t put my sweaters into storage just yet, which I’m not even mad about. The right sweater can get you through fall, winter, spring and maybe even make a guest appearance on cool summer nights, so it’s important to choose wisely! Here are a few tips for how to choose the perfect sweater that will work year round:
- Be Materialistic. What your sweater is made of is just as important as any other aspect when looking to buy a new sweater that most people often over-look. If you live in warmer climates use to light weight fabrics like cotton, linen or cashmere but for those of us up north try to find use a cotton blend, sheep wool or cashmere.
- Get Fit. A sweater in a versatile fit will be the easiest to transition from season to season as well as day to night. It’s important that you find a sweater that makes you feel great in your skin and want to wear it time and time again.
No matter whether you’re sweater shopping for spring or fall keep the rest of the year in mind as well as your day to day activities in mind so that you pick the perfect sweater to fit all your needs! See how else I’ve worn this sweater here and here.

That sweater does look comfy and great with those pants. I LOVE the colour on your toenails – what shade of polish is that?
I’m heading to the US on April 12 (LA & Orlando) so hoping the weather will be mild as we are coming out of summer here and I don’t think I’ll cope well with the cold!!!
Hey Kirsty,
The polish is from Essie called “Strut Your Stuff”.
Hope the weather here in the US is treating you nicely while you’re out in LA and Orlando.
I love that sweater and I love this look on you, so flattering!
