8 Black Owned Products I’m Loving

Aug 10, 2020 | Shopping Guides

While many areas around the fight for equality seem out of our control, one thing we all have control over is where we spend our money. Before social media finding quality affordable black owned products was a struggle. You mostly relied on word of mouth from friends and if you had no black friends odds are you never even thought about who you were supporting when you made your purchases. But thankfully people like myself have a platform to help change this. As I’ve become an even more mindful shopper this year I plan to advocate for black businesses. There needs to be just as much energy in the blogging community to share black brands like we do USA made products, sustainable products and companies who treat their workers ethically because often times those lists overlook black owned businesses. So while we are STILL waiting for the Breonna Taylor’s killers to be held accountable one real way that you can continue to do to show support is by buying black owned products. Putting your money into black businesses supports black families, helps close the racial wealth gap and puts money back into local communities rather than a billionaire’s pocket. To help you, and myself, on this journey to redefining where quality products come from and brands you should know I’m sharing 8 black owned products that you’ll want to buy over and over again.
