Let’s face it, when in doubt black is such a great and easy fallback that looks good on everyone. Even better than the fact that black makes you look BOMB.COM it’s appropriate for every occasion, even your wedding if that’s how you wanna roll. Just like with any other monochrome outfit, there is a catch, the key to keep from looking drab in a black monochrome is to add something unexpected.
I mean let’s be honest, the outfits we spend HOURS gushing over are usually something really simple with a hint of personal flair. When a monochrome of any color, it’s important to make use of interesting cuts, fabrics and textures to keep your look from being boring. You can make use of cuts by opting for a crop top or longline blazer to play with lengths. Another great way is to use mix textures like satin and leather to make your outfit more editorial. The most important thing to remember is to stay true to your style. If you’re not the type to wear dramatic textures, don’t force it. Wear what makes you look and feel your best! See how else I’ve worn this blazer here and here.
