One thing that I always find myself reaching for during the summer is a breathable white dress. When I’m in a rush to run some quick errands or to the beach I usually will grab an oversized button up and disguise it as a dress. Other times I reach for this chic little number when I want something a little dressier for being out and about in Detroit. I even added some eye & hooks to this dress so I could have a little more coverage in case I felt like wearing it modestly. When it comes to picking a dress that’s going to work for your lifestyle keep these things in mind:
- Fabric: be sure to pick something that’s going to be breathable like linen or cotton. Even though some polyester or viscose pieces seem sheer they still don’t really allow for good air flow.
- Activities: always think about where you plan to wear your pieces. The key is to pick a style that can work for as many occassions as possible so you get the most wear out of your dress instead of buying a bunch of different dresses.
- Fit: for me I focus on cuts that will allow movement. You might want to avoid extremely fitted clothes as they’ll cause you to sweat more.
